Is it easy being green?

I can't decide whether green tunics are too much for my next unit of late Roman infantry, along with green shields. Or should I stick with a simple sandstone tunic with red trim. What do you think?

  1. I think go greeen! I know it will stand out on the table a bit more but you can use that psychology to tactical advantage :)

  2. I think the green is too bright, and too much with a green shield. It looks suited more for fantasy. Maybe a different shade of green? I much prefer the sandstone with red trim. It pops.

  3. I'm not sure. I wonder what dye would make a green that bright on a tunic. I get plant-based and all, but I think it would fade down to a more celery colour over time. I prefer the white but you should make yourself happy. A whole unit of these is going to be quite attention grabbing, though (oh no, the shopping mall elves have risen up against us!) :)

  4. I'd go with sandstone & red. But maybe use different shades of sandstone to add a little variety.

  5. As much as my daughter and I like the way the green tunic stands out, Bob's reference to the "shopping mall elves" (my first thought too) does it for me, sandstone it will be.

    Cheers gents!
